9/12 LiveLesson we reviewed how to successfully navigate the US History course! When you get to the BreakOut room activity in the recording, please fast forward past this. We created a fun Padlet for ways to use the Message Board, you might enjoy checking this out!
9/19 LiveLesson introduced the essay questions that will appear on the Unit 2 Quiz. We reviewed how to use the study guides and how to successfully answer the essay questions. We reviewed the concept of Colonization, read and responded to an article (link provided). We reviewed the Articles of Confederation, analyzed why they did not work, and introduced the Constitution.
9/26 LiveLesson focused on analyzing Andrew Jackson's presidency, and Andrew Jackson the man. At the end of the LiveLesson students watched the NearPod video "Slavery to Mass Incarceration" I also reviewed the Unit 3 essay questions that will appear on the quiz in Open Office, and I included this resource above. The Christy Coleman video is interesting, and you can watch it if you are interested.

10/10 LiveLesson allowed students to analyze the 3 Reconstruction Amendments, what their intentions were, and what really took place in our History. Click the link for the recorded LiveLesson to view the lesson. I have also linked the article we read, so you can view this as well.
10/17 LiveLesson was a precursor to the Portfolio in Unit 7. I introduced the Industrial Revolution by showing some of the events that took place. We focused on the Haymarket Affair, the Homestead Strike, and the Pullman Strike. I hope you will watch this recording. If you do, please let me know in a webmail so I can afford you the extra credit on the Unit 6 quiz!
The 10/24 LiveLesson took place in Mrs. Novalis-Edwards' zoom room, and we had a full room!! I was so happy to see so many show up. You can see this excellent lesson by clicking on the link above. I believe this will give you the background you may need to be more successful on the Unit 7 Portfolio!
10/31 LiveLesson took place in Mr. Bernstein's zoom room, and we had a lot of participation! Mr. Bernstein had a wonderful lesson on Immigration and the Gilded Age. 11/7 LiveLesson was a review of the Unit 9 Test. We played Kahoot and referred to the study guide while playing. Mrs. Novalis-Edwards reviewed the short response questions. Watch the recorded LiveLesson for both the Kahoot and the review of the short response questions. You might also want to view the Student Kahoot. Please use the study guide while you play. The # for each question in Kahoot, is the number on your study guide! All tests are open notes, plus you can send me your completed study guide for +5 on the test!
11/14 LiveLesson was all about the Progressive Era, and Unit 10. Plan to view the recording to better understand this era in history.
11/28 LiveLesson analyzed the viewpoints of BT Washington and WEB Du Bois. Examples were provided from the DBQ Document choice for the Unit 11 Portfolio. This is a great one to watch to get a perspective on how to use your reading comprehension skills as you read and analyze documents for this portfolio!
12/5 LiveLesson was taught by Mr. Bernstein. He addressed all the unique characteristics of presidents during this era and focused upon Teddy Roosevelt.
12/12 LiveLesson was a review of the Unit 13 Test. If you watch the recorded LiveLesson, you will see a review of the short answer essay responses. There are 4 of them on the test, and it is very important that you respond to all of them. I have also added a link to the Essay Response Review Slides. Watch, or review on your own, Ms. Torline's review of the questions and answers. For multiple choice review, play the student Kahoot and fill in the study guide! Make a copy of the study guide, type on it, and send it in for +5 on the assessment, plus use it on the test! All assessments are open notes.
