A Little About Myself!

I was born in Dallas, TX, but I was raised in Glendale, AZ. After high school, I went to work at various jobs including bank teller, apartment leasing, and deposition typist. It was not until I was 23, and married, that I decided I wanted to be serious about school and get my teaching degree. My husband's job took us to Albuquerque, NM where I attended the University of New Mexico. After two years his job took us to Richmond, KY where I continued my education at Eastern Kentucky University. Then finally, his job took us to Honolulu, HI, where I finished my undergraduate degree at the University of Hawaii, Manoa with a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education!

We moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1990 where I taught Middle School History for 16 years. During that time I had our first child in 1993, and our son in 1995. I left teaching for about 9 years to be home with our children and run the delicatessen which we owned at the time. After returning to teaching, I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning in 2003.  I have been married to my wonderful, adventurous husband for 39 years, and our children are off on their own adventures now.

 I have been teaching for California Online Public Schools for 9 years, and I love the online environment!

I love to play golf with my husband, Jeff. I also enjoy walking, camping, hiking, traveling, and crocheting.

I adopted a kitty! She is a wonderful addition to my family, and I enjoy her company every day!  She hangs out with me in my office, so maybe you will see her if you come to LiveLesson! Her name is Kitty.
